This roast chicken recipe is also easily adaptable to rotisserie cooking! Simply adjust the cooking time as needed.

 

Cooking times are critical when roasting a chicken. Cooking times can vary depending on the size of your chicken, so I highly recommend using a thermometer!

When a meat thermometer is inserted into the inner thigh of a fully cooked chicken, the internal temperature will be 165°F (this takes the longest to be fully cooked).

Ingredients

  • 1 3-pound chicken
  • 2 lemons
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 5 garlic cloves, peeled

Directions

  1. Preheat at 400°F for 3 minutes
  2. Grate the zest from 1 lemon
  3. Cut the lemon in half and juice half of the lemon
  4. Cut the remaining 1 and a half lemon into slices
  5. Mix salt (2 tsp), pepper, lemon zest, lemon juice, minced garlic
  6. Salt the cavity of the chicken
  7. Place the lemon slices and garlic cloves in the cavity
  8. Rub the butter and lemon mixture over the chicken
  9. Place the chicken on the rotisserie spit
  10. Tie the legs tightly
  11. Air fry with the setting of Preset Menu: Chicken (Temp: 400°F; Time: 30 Min)
  12. Check if the internal temperature reaches 165°F. If not, add additional minutes until the chicken is cooked.

Inaccurate description! Rotisserie is done on a spit. This recipe is for roasting a chicken.
