Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 large eggs, divided
  • 2 tsp water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • Sliced pecan halves, for the stems

Directions

  1. Mix the milk with yeast, granulated sugar and stir.
  2. Allow the yeast to bloom for about 10 minutes until frothy
  3. Add the butter, pumpkin puree, one egg and salt in a yeast mixture and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the flour and mix well
  5. Flour the surface
  6. Knead the dough for 5 minutes. Then, transfer the dough to an oiled bowl
  7. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap
  8. Let the dough rise in a warm spot for about an hour until doubled in size
  9. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface
  10. Divide the dough into 15 equal pieces
  11. Shape the dough into balls
  12. Make the pumpkin shape using string
  13. Put in the pan and cover and let it rise for 45 minutes
  14. Put the pumpkin-shaped rolls to air fryer and cook at 350℉ for 3 minutes
  15. Poke a hole into the top of each roll.
  16. Then, in a small bowl whisk the eggs and water.
  17. Brush the rolls with egg wash
  18. Cook in the air fryer again for 350℉ for 15-20 minutes
  19. Allow the rolls to cool for 15 minutes
  20. Cut and gently remove the strings from the rolls. Then, place a pecan half into the hole of each roll.
